Longchen Rabjam's Treasury of Philosophy (Part 1)
Introduction
One of Tibet's greatest thinkers, Longchen Rabjampa Drime Ozer (1308-1363) composed the Grub mtha' mdzod or Treasury of Philosophy as part of his Seven Great Treasuries (T. mdzod chen bdun). This, the second volume, discusses non-Buddhist and Buddhist tenet systems from the point of view of Atiyoga, or Dzogchen, in a coherent and integrative way. It is one of the earliest examples of original Tibetan scholarship in the doxographical genre (Skt. siddhānta, T. grub mtha'). Longchenpa's non-sectarian view shines forth in this great work.
